"C & R...? *plump!*"

C & R Clothiers was a men's clothing store during Adam and Josh's childhood and the subject of what is considered to be the first official corruption (the "proto-corruption", perhaps). One of their commercials involved two men occupying an elevator engaged in a conversation as to where they purchased their suits. Upon the second man's reply that he got it from C & R, the first man, incredulous, responded by repeating the company's name followed by a dismissive scoff/chuckle. To Adam and Josh's ears, the aforementioned scoff/chuckle sounded as though the man had said "plump", thus the phrase "C & R? Plump!" was born.

This is also the first official example for which Adam and Josh created a phrase or situation based on something very simple or mundane and vastly elaborated on it, refusing to let it go over the ages.
