Esther Cars
When young children, Adam and Josh would frequently visit a family friend with their parents. The family friend lived in an apartment and one of the other resident's cars, a classic Volkswagon Beetle, was always in the parking lot. Adam and Josh began associating this model of car with visiting the family friend, who was named Esther. Since then, Adam and Josh have always referred to any classic Volkswagon Beetle as an "Esther Car".
Duplo Vans
Adam and Josh have always been fascinated by a particular style of old van. This style had the front of the van appear nearly flat, almost as if there were no engine to speak of. It also had a somewhat cheap, boxy looking exterior, making it appear as if made of plastic. Reminding them of the Duplo brand of Lego, Adam and Josh began referring to such vehicles as "Duplo Vans", a practice they continue to this day.
Gargling
One day, when Adam and Josh were driving around in Adam's 1999 Ford Escort ZX2, Josh noticed that the engine sounded as if it were gargling when put into reverse. Since that day, Adam and/or Josh often make a gargling noise along with the engine as the car is going backwards.
This gargling sound only applies to manual cars, not automatics.
