Nintendo produced a dual-cart for the NES that had both Super Spike V'Ball and Nintendo World Cup Soccer on it.

Super Spike V'Ball

Gameplay

Last Second Jumping
Adam and Josh would go through periods of non-serious gameplay where they would attempt to return a serve or rally with a last second jump. Often times, their apathy would cause them to jump too late, losing the point. This became an acquired skill where Adam and Josh would practice the last second shots, trying to return the ball at the absolute last second.

Last Second Serving
Much like last second jumping, Adam and Josh would often use the same technique when attempting to serve, often resulting in failure. An alternative to this would be rapid fire serving, where they'd mash the button in order to serve as fast as possible.

Cursing
To Adam and Josh, the game's animation for a bump seemed to have a mark of aggression to it. They'd often use the move outside of play. After a point was scored, there would be a period of time before the next serve. During that time, the player could still move, jump, or bump. Often after losing a point, Adam or Josh would either bump or jump in a display of frustration. The bump began to be considered a form of cursing in the direction of the other team, a la the middle finger.

Characters

Mr. and Mrs. Cursor
When a point is scored, the game cuts to a mid-court scene. A picture in picture appears of a woman signaling which team scored the point. The game also uses a cursor underneath the score of the team that was currently serving. Over time, Adam and Josh began to refer to the woman as Mrs. Cursor and the cursor itself as Mr. Cursor. They were a married couple. The bizarre logistics of this marriage were recognized but never explored.

The Arnolds
The game features numerous teams of varying attributes and appearances. Adam and Josh were most drawn to the bulky team as they were willing to trade off slower speed for more power. Due to their hulking frames and their wearing of sunglasses, Adam and Josh began referring to this team as "The Arnolds", after Arnold Schwarzenegger. During the aforementioned moments between points, Adam and Josh would usually walk around or towards their teammate, amused at how slowly they traveled. When the point was lost, they would often begin walking menacingly toward their teammate, blaming them for the loss and saying "I'm going to go beat up my friend..." in a lazy Schwarzenegger impression.

The Bears
Another team Adam and Josh took note of were the opponents from Chicago. They were also rather big, but seemingly fat rather than muscular. Because of their size and the city they were from, Adam and Josh referred to them as "The Bears".

Characters

Arturo the Fart
Once, Josh decided to name one of his teammates "Arturo the Fart" for some inexplicable reason. Arturo's prominence within the game grew (even as his role did not) simply due to his amusing monicker. His fame grew so much that Adam and Josh still refer back to him to this day.

Number One
The second in command for the players team did most of the required dirty work. As their right hand man, Adam and Josh began calling to this player as "Number One" in reference to Captain Picard's label for Commander Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Frankenstein
One character looked particularly worn and had a high forehead, so Adam and Josh began to call him Frankenstein.

Gameplay

Communication
The player can issue commands to his teammates, such as "pass", "shoot", or "slide" and his teammates will respond with "OK". Sometimes, due to gameplay conditions, the teammates decline, saying either "I can't." or "Wait." Adam and Josh would resent this as they wanted their commands to be carried out immediately and would begin spamming the command until compliance.

One of the playable characters resembles Frankenstein. This, combined with the rather terse command of "Pass", led Adam and Josh to repeat the phrase out loud in a brusque tone meant to invoke Frankenstein. They enjoyed doing this so much that the tone spread to areas far outside the game. They both began to say "Pass" or any word that rhymed with "Pass" in the Frankenstein manner. This practice became so pervasive that even without the knowledge of its origin, their father began doing it as well.

Chicken Dance
One of the gameplay animations features players moving their head forward in an attempt to hit the ball with it. This is accompanied with a weird backward movement of one of their feet. This greatly reminded Adam and Josh of the stereotypical image of a chicken bobbing its head and scraping the ground with its feet. From that time onward, they would often make their character repeatedly use that movement while making chicken noises.

Field Hopping
One of the offensive maneuvers players have is to dive forward in an attempt to either knock the ball from an opposing player or to hit the ball forward close to the ground. Oftentimes, it was the only way to retrieve the ball from the opposition, but more frequently Adam and Josh would make it their only mode of transportation from one side of the field to the other, just for variety or comedic effect.

Corner Kick Interception Game
When the opponent's ball would leave the field close to the corner, the game would automatically make a player from that team retrieve the ball and kick it infield from that corner. At one point, Adam discovered that if he stood a certain close distance from that player, he could intercept the ball immediately after the entrance kick and kick it out of bounds again. He could repeat this as many times as he wanted and would often use it to win a game with little effort. Adding to the humorous effect was the fact that there would be a pause after the ball went out of the field and off the screen, during which the players would stand in place, facing the direction the ball left the field. Adam and Josh imagined the players, frustrated and exhausted, sighing as the ball was kicked out of bounds yet again.

Moting the Team
If any computer-controlled player was knocked down enough times, they would actually be incapacitated for the remainder of the game. Rather than disappearing from the field, however, they would remain there in a crumpled heap. This provided incentive for Adam and Josh to spend some games with the goal of trying to incapacitate every player on the opposing team. The first team they always faced in the tournament was Cameroon, and being the first team, they were the easiest to defeat. Because of this, Cameroon was the team that got "Moted" the most.

West Germany Obsession
Every team has its own specialized super kick. After first getting the game, Adam and Josh spent some time playing as every team until they settled on Argentina as their team of choice. Because the tournament's path was determined based on the player's choice of team, that meant that the final opponent Adam and Josh faced was always West Germany. As such, Adam and Josh considered West Germany their rivals and always worked hard to defeat them. To this day, they both remember the password they obtained by progressing through the tournament that would let them immediately play against West Germany: 12806.
