Knights of the Round is an arcade beat em up game that Josh often played via emulator.

Backwards Jumping Attack

When jumping, the player has the ability to change directions in midair. The player can also attack as they do so. Adam and Josh found it humorous to jump at an enemy and while flying past them, switch directions and attack them anyway. Compare this to Immaculate Last Second Lateral Passing from NBA Jam.

"Barricade"

Everything that can be attacked in beat em up games tends to have its own life bar. This is no exception in Knights of the Round. At various points, there are barricades that the player attacks to break through. Adam and Josh found it quite humorous that the barricades themselves were given a life bar, even though they only took one hit to destroy. In celebration of their short lived time in the game, they would announce "Barricade!" whenever the life bar popped up.

Dragonball Effect

When passing certain point thresholds, the player levels up. Leveling up grants them bigger, stronger armor and a more effective weapon. Adam and Josh noticed that the armor gets bigger but the characters's heads seem to get smaller at the same time. This is an instance of the ((Dragonball|Dragonball Effect)).

"Doff doff!"

Some enemies wear armor. One of the earliest common armored enemies encountered is called Sword Man. Sometimes clanking sounds are made when hitting his armor, but if the player successfully hits a Sword Man and does damage, a sound sample plays of him crying out in pain (presumably). However, to Adam and Josh, the sample sounds more like someone saying "doff doff!" and they humorously repeat it when prompted by the game.

Horseplay

Players can occasionally ride a horse temporarily, giving them an advantage in battle. The player can attack with his sword while moving forward, but can also attack while the horse walks backward which looks rather awkward. Whenever riding the horse, Josh would often attack nonstop to up the comedy factor, doing his best to abuse his position atop the horse before inevitably getting attacked and losing it.
