Umineko: When They Cry is a horror anime series Adam and Josh watched in the summer of 2010.

"J'accuse!"

During the opening credits, the main protagonist is shown aggressively pointing his finger in an accusatory manner. Josh took to saying "J'accuse!" ("I accuse!/I accuse you!") when this happened, referencing the trial-like nature of the show.

Japanese Dio

The ending credits are particularly bombastic. The singer has a trembly, over-wrought, super dramatic manner which is very fitting to the melodramatic nature of the song. After the particularly screechy ending, Josh took to saying "Oh, thanks Japanese Dio" in reference to Ronnie James Dio, the American rock and heavy metal vocalist and songwriter.

"Sin Team: Roll out!"

The opening credits change midway through the series to reflect the introduction of new characters amongst who are the "Chiesters". Details have been lost to time, but while watching the series, a connection was drawn between the Chiesters and some form of sin. Prompted by this, Adam began to refer to them collectively as the "Sin Team", and would accompany their appearance during the opening credits with "Sin Team: Roll out!" Optimus Prime style.

"Nee-hee"

One of the Chiesters, Chiester 410, has a verbal tic of ending many of her sentences with "nee-hee". Adam began making a big deal of this, often saying it upon her arrival.
