In the late 90s/early 2000s, multiple flash videos started appearing online, set to the audio from a cd put out by Group X. Group X are known for speaking in broken English with a stereotypically Arabic accent. One particular video, made by Keith McKnight, was called Mario Twins and was about two guys playing the original Super Mario Brothers. At the very end, after having an unsatisfying experience, one of them suggests that they play "Super Mario's Punch-Off". The other responds with "Okay, let's quit dis gayme", followed by a spoken "boop", signaling them powering off the system. This quote, more than any other, stuck with Adam and Josh the most.
Years later, Adam and Josh have become regular users of a piece of remote computer control software named TeamViewer, with which Adam will conduct technical assistance or the two of them will use to merely communicate using the voice over IP feature. At some point, Adam began to mark the end of their conversations with "Okay, let's quit dis gayme", followed by "boop" from both of them, Josh first. Why Adam happened to remember this and started doing it is unclear, but it has been done without fail since.
