Drew Griffin, waiting to drop the hammer
In the early 2000's, Adam and Josh would routinely watch the CBS 2 evening news on television. One of the anchors, Drew Griffin, would commonly be one of the newscasters for the night. Somehow, based on his appearance alone, Adam and Josh felt that he had the potential of being a hard-ass who demanded obedience more than his position probably entitled him to. They imagined a scenario wherein, during a commercial break without the cameras on, a staff member made a minor mistake in front of the news desk - which, in their minds, was a great height off the ground. Drew, taking notice, would lean forward and point downward at the lowly staff member and loudly declare "You're fired!". The humor is derived from the fact that even in this scenario, Drew would clearly not have the authority to fire anybody, though he would assume he did. Again, this hard-ass nature is based solely on his appearance and, by all accounts, he appears to be a very amiable person.
