The Majors Pro Baseball is a video game for the Game Gear hand-held system that Adam received for his birthday one year. Adam and Josh would often share their games so Josh spent plenty of time playing it as well. Upon noticing that most of the players in the game were white, Adam and Josh started calling the game "Whitebread Baseball". Adam and Josh's favorite players in the game were Brett Butler, Darryl Strawberry, Eric Karros, and Mike Scioscia.
Adam and Josh so frequently referred to the game as "Whitebread Baseball" that one of Adam's friends only knows it by that name.
Adam and Josh would prefer to play as the Dodgers. Darryl Strawberry always batted fourth as the cleanup hitter. When it was time for him to come to the plate, the game would show a scene of him standing up within the batting circle with the text "CLEAN UP" above him. Adam and Josh, not knowing what this meant, said "I ain't no janitor!" in a stereotypical voice representing Strawberry's protestation.
Even years after playing the game, Adam and Josh still respond with "I ain't no janitor!" any time Darryl Strawberry is mentioned or even just the clean up batting position.
The song "Higher Ground" by The Red Hot Chili Peppers (a cover of the Stevie Wonder song) was popular around the time the game came out. Josh, for no particular reason, changed the lyrics to reflect a Whitebread Baseball theme. The changed lyrics are as follows (sung in the style of Anthony Kiedis):
"Whitebreads keep on hittin'
And Blackbreads keep on whiffin'...
Keep on, keep on sailin' on... sailin' on past that pitcha's mound"
