Insulated Throat

Having an insulated throat is condition that causes a person's voice to take on certain characteristics. These include having a voice that sounds thick, nasally, and constricted. It sounds like the speaker's throat is physically narrower and thicker, almost as if their throat was padded with a layer of insulation.
