Between 2006 and 2007, both Adam and Josh worked at the same company, though in different departments. As their hours were similar, they would carpool.
At the end of a particular work day in which Josh was ready to leave before Adam, Josh entered Adam's office and expressed his interest in heading home by nonchalantly stating "Let's get the rock out of here", in reference to the same line from the Def Leppard song "Let's Get Rocked". This became somewhat of a habit, such that in later months when Adam would tend to complete his work before Josh, Adam would use the line.
The tone of voice used when saying the line is dismissive, similar to the tone of voice used in the well-known phrase "Let's blow this pop stand".
