An example of a Nuclear Turn

As children, Adam and Josh played a lot of Mad Libs. One entry dealt with a car race. One of the blank items to fill in was "______ turn" where the blank was meant to be an adjective. The person suggesting the words chose "nuclear", creating the phrase "nuclear turn". Both Adam and Josh took great amusement at the implications of this phrase.

At the same time, Adam and Josh tended to make a big deal of the near full-circle turns of certain freeway on-ramps and off-ramps. In a spark of inspiration, one of them began to refer to the ramps as "nuclear turns", illustrating their extreme nature.

There are two ways to refer to a nuclear turn: As the physical ramp itself, or as the description of the kind of turn required to traverse them.
