"Ohoh" is a phrase taken from the 1938 Warner Brother's cartoon "Porky's Poppa" in which a mechanical cow battles a real cow for milk-making supremacy. The mechanical cow is able to do much more than just give milk, as demonstrated by the variety of products that roll by on its built-in conveyor belt. During the scene illustrating this, various products pass by on the belt, including a very out-of-place bottle of "Old Manger Whiskey". Upon the bottle coming into view, a voice, presumably the cow's, utters a deep "ohoh" and its tail removes the bottle from sight.
Adam and Josh employ this phrase in announcement of a perceived danger, misfortune, or trouble. On occasion, it is used after, or even during, said trouble.
"Shit." is a companion phrase to "Ohoh" and is more often used during the danger, misfortune, etc. If "Ohoh" is the general promise of oncoming trouble, "Shit." is the confirmation. It is said in a gruff and curt manner.
