The following are corruptions collected from various games within the Street Fighter franchise.

Street Fighter

"Michael!"

The first Street Fighter game, while innovative for its time, uses what is now considered low quality voice samples. Before each round, a digitized voice says "Fight!". Adam, however, managed to hear "Michael!", with particular emphasis on the first syllable. Ever since then, when a Street Fighter game announces "Fight!", Adam will say "Michael!" in response.

Street Fighter 2

"Cream Sar Kick!"

The vocal samples in Street Fighter 2, while much better than in the first game, are still often hard to decipher. For instance, Chun Li's move "Spinning Bird Kick" sounded to Adam and Josh like "Cream Sar Kick!" and so the two have referred to it by that name ever since. Neither of them are sure exactly what a "Cream Sar" is.

X-Men vs. Street Fighter

"Jugger-AUGH!"

Juggernaut is a playable character in this game and has a number of moves whose titles start with "Juggernaut". As is typical of the games in the franchise, characters will call out the name of the move as it is performed. If they are interrupted however, so will the call-out, being cut off by a grunt or other pained expression. The more Adam played the game, the more he noticed himself interrupting Juggernaut's moves, such that he was consistently hearing "Jugger-AUGH!". This became somewhat of a staple quote Adam and Josh use to represent when a character just can't get their move through to completion.

Marvel vs. Capcom

"Berserker Clau!"

One of Wolverine's moves is called Berserker Claw, but the way he pronounces the word "Claw" sounded to Josh like "Clau!". In typical form, Josh exaggerated the word and constantly repeated it, officially renaming the move "Berserker Clau".

"Do your job"

Characters in the game have taunts that can be manually activated with a button press. Spider Man's taunt in particular caught Adam and Josh's attention. He casually flicks his finger to point to the opponent and haughtily says "Do your job". Adam and Josh found Spider Man's display of arrogance fun, and so repeated the gesture and quote whenever applicable.

"Eyebeams of Dublin"

Onslaught, the final boss of the game, has multiple powerful moves. One such move is a series of large beams blasted from his eyes and rained down upon the player. Neither Adam nor Josh can make out the exact phrase Onslaught says when he does this, but they have decided on "Eyebeams of Dublin" because that's what it most sounds like to them. They are both amused at trying to figure out exactly what makes Dublin so important and why the eyebeams are from there.

"Hands and cover!"

Before the first round of each fight, each character makes his or her entrance and may or may not say a canned phrase. When Captain Commando makes his entrance, he uses a phrase that neither Adam nor Josh can understand and frankly aren't sure is even English. Josh interpreted the phrase as "Hands and cover!", which while making absolutely no sense at all, has nevertheless stuck.

"Here's my curvaceous....CANNOOOOOOON!

One of War Machine's special moves is the Proton Cannon, in which he mounts a large cannon on his shoulder and fires a screen-filling blast at the opponent. When he does this, he says something unintelligible to Adam and Josh, and then excitedly "CANNOOOOOOON!". Josh, eager to fill in the blanks, thought that the word before "cannon" sounded like "curvaceous", so he began to use the phrase "Here's my curvaceous....CANNOOOOOOON!" The assumption was that War Machine, being what he is, would indeed find attractiveness in weapons and consider his cannon "curvaceous".

"Jesus Christ!"

While attending college, Adam would frequently spend downtime at the small game room in the University Student Union, which held a number of fighting games, including Marvel vs. Capcom. While busy playing another game, he began to notice frequent utterances of "Jesus Christ!" coming from across the room. Finally giving in and investigating, he discovered that somebody was playing as Cyclops on the Marvel vs. Capcom machine. Whenever Cyclops did an uppercut move, he would say "Gene Splice", which is the name of the move. Not knowing that at the time, and despite knowing that "Jesus Christ" was obviously not the name of the move, Adam was greatly amused at the thought of Cyclops being annoyed enough during the fight to be driven to blasphemy. After learning the real name of the move and sharing it with Josh, the two of them began to use "Gene splice!" in place of "Jesus Christ" whenever surprised or amazed at something.

"Let's go, payday!" ("Crap!")

When a coin is inserted into the machine, the game announcer says "Let's go crazy!" to get the player pumped up. Not hearing this correctly, Adam assumed the phrase was actually "Let's go, payday!" Even after learning the real quote, he refuses to acknowledge it. When the Player 1 or Player 2 button is hit to use a credit, the announcer says a one word phrase that neither Adam nor Josh can understand, so they've gone with what it most sounds like to them: "Crap!"

"Persistent Barrage!"

Following from Wolverine's unique intonation discovered with "Berserker Clau", Josh began to refer to the move "Berserker Barrage" as "Persistent Barrage", not only because it sounded more like that to him, but because it was not inconceivable that somebody as battle-ready as Wolverine would be persistent in his attacks.

"Thanks a lot."

In addition to the tag-team feature in which each player can switch between two characters at will during matches, each player has an "assist" character who can be summoned a limited number of times to distract and cause damage to the opponent. One of these assist characters is a Sentinel from the X-Men universe, who simply flies from one side of the screen to the other, mowing down all in its path. Upon being summoned, the Sentinel says a phrase that Adam and Josh cannot decipher, but it sounded to them like "Thanks a lot." It is said in a robotic, monotone voice, as one would expect from a machine. The tone of the voice combined with the interpretation of the phrase was highly amusing to the two of them, as they imagine the Sentinel, being thrown into the midst of battle, sarcastically thanking his summoner for being put in danger.

"We are Venom." "...'We'?"

Venom's pre-battle quote, said as Venom itself envelops his symbiotic partner Eddie Brock, is "We are Venom". Not fully knowing the origin of Venom, Josh only saw one character on the screen who he assumed to be Venom himself, and sarcastically responded "...'We'?" Even now, in call and response fashion, he will respond that way when hearing the "We are Venom" quote.
