The Tales Series is an RPG franchise spanning multiple systems.

Tales of Phantasia

Battles in Tales of Phantasia are in 2D along a single plane. When particularly effective hits are made against enemies, they get stunned. Little birds are seen circling their heads, though to Josh the birds instead looked like dust clouds. This promoted Josh to declare that the enemy had been "dusted". From then on, any time an enemy was stunned, Josh would say in a smooth, low voice "dusted!". This phrase has carried over to many other situations where someone or something is dealt a heavy blow.

Chappy

See "Chappy" under Miscellaneous Anime Corruptions.

Gernis

One of the characters is named Genis. Being engrossed in Homestar Runner at the time, Josh would tell Genis that he "did a good jaerb", in the manner of Coach Z, whenever he accomplished something. Noticing the Genis's name could be altered as well, Josh started calling his "Gernis". Adam and Josh began applying this method to Genis's skills as well resulting in the following sentence: "Ya did a great jaerb daershin' an' daergin' dere, Gernis."

Ski-daddling

When moving in town and dungeon maps, one can hold down a button to run rather than walk. In a habit derived from Chrono Trigger, Adam would frequently tap the button rapidly, making the characters quickly alternate between walking and running. This stuttered pace almost made it look like the character was trying to ski. Because of this and the hurried pace of the character, Adam and Josh dubbed this "ski-daddling".

The Uncle Game

A mini-game in one of the towns is named "Desert Uncle Scramble". The object of the game is to correctly identify dozens of middle-aged men walking down the street in proper order. Underestimating the difficulty of the game, Adam spent much longer than anticipated trying to perfect it. Adam and Josh became increasingly stubborn and comically frustrated with their failures and refused to continue in the main storyline until they completed the game. Unable, or unwilling, to remember the official title of the game, Adam and Josh simply refer to it as "The Uncle Game".
